Valeria
Valeria is 13 years old and lives in a small village in Peru. Her biggest dream: She wants to be a teacher. The small village school with only one class for everyone does not suffice. To progress, she must go to the city. However, her parents do not have the money. Her only chance is the difficult entrance exam for a scholarship.
For two years, we have accompanied Valeria with the camera and followed her life, which seems like a fairy tale, outside of time and space. We captured her daily life in her small village at an altitude of 4,600, together in the mornings at the small school with children of all ages learning, with only one teacher in a single room. We filmed Valeria, as she expressed her desire to go to high school and becoming a teacher. We worried with her n the evening before the examination, which was vital for her scholarship, because her parents could not provide her this schooling.
